Ka ‘Ohana O Kalaupapa!
Your fully-tax deductible donation supports Ka ‘Ohana O Kalaupapa, a nonprofit that's dedicated to remembering and honoring each of the nearly 8,000 men, women and children who were taken from their families and forcibly isolated at Kalaupapa because of government policies regarding leprosy (today also called Hansen’s disease).
Ka ‘Ohana includes Kalaupapa residents, family members, descendants, friends and anyone who has been inspired by this history. Over the past 22 years, Ka ‘Ohana has developed educational programs and traveling exhibits, published books, produced a concert of Kalaupapa music and helped more than 1,000 descendants learn about or learn more about their Kalaupapa ancestors. The biggest project of Ka ‘Ohana is The Kalaupapa Memorial which will list the names of everyone who was sent to Kalaupapa. It is hoped the Memorial can be dedicated in 2028.
